Apollo Micro Systems Ltd. Hits All-Time High on Major Export Win

In a remarkable development that reaffirmed its multibagger status, Apollo Micro Systems Ltd. (AMS) surged 17.8% on Wednesday, hitting a record high of ₹183.60 on the BSE. This spike came following the announcement of a significant export order worth USD 13.37 million (~₹113.81 crore) for the development of an advanced avionics system. The order, intended for both civil and military aircraft applications, underscores Apollo’s rising stature in the global defence tech arena.

With the stock now trading at double its 52-week low of ₹88.10, and volumes spiking 2.5 times on the BSE, investors are taking note — and for good reason.

About Apollo Micro Systems

Founded in 1985, Apollo Micro Systems is a Hyderabad-based defence tech company that designs and manufactures high-end electronics and electromechanical solutions. It caters to critical sectors such as aerospace, defence, and space. The company is well known for R&D-led innovations like torpedo-homing systems, underwater mines, and mission-critical electronic subsystems.

Its recent acquisition of IDL Explosives Ltd. has further transformed AMS into an emerging fully integrated Tier-1 defence OEM, positioning it at the heart of India’s self-reliance drive in defence production.

Fundamental Analysis: Strengthening Core with Big Results

Apollo Micro Systems has posted stellar financial performance in FY25:

🔹 Annual Financials (FY25):

  • Net Sales: ₹562.07 crore (+51.24% YoY)

  • EBITDA: ₹132 crore (+54% YoY)

  • EBITDA Margin: 23.5%

  • PAT: ₹56.36 crore (+81.18% YoY)

Managing Director Mr. Baddam Karunakar Reddy attributed this performance to strong execution, a healthy order book, and the transition of multiple high-value products into commercial-scale production. He emphasised the long-term nature of defence contracts and noted the company’s resilience amid geopolitical shifts.

🔹 Quarterly Highlights (Q4FY25 vs Q4FY24):

  • Sales: ₹161.77 crore (+9%)

  • PAT: ₹13.96 crore (-23%)
The slight dip in quarterly PAT reflects the lumpy nature of defence order execution, making the annual performance a more reliable metric for valuation.

Technical Outlook: Bullish Momentum, but Caution Ahead

  • Current Price: ₹183.60

  • 52-Week High/Low: ₹183.60 / ₹88.10

  • Volume Spike: 2.5x average

  • Market Cap: ₹5,525 crore (Small Cap)

🔸 Technical Indicators:

  • Relative Strength Index (RSI): ~80 (Overbought Zone)

  • Moving Averages: Trading above 20, 50, and 200-day EMAs

  • MACD: Bullish crossover

While momentum remains strong, RSI in the overbought zone suggests a short-term pullback may be due. However, any dips could provide fresh entry opportunities for long-term investors
